I think I can, I think I can, I think I can………

The Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper was one my favorite books as a child. I love this book because of the wonderful message we receive from it, "we can overcome seemingly impossible tasks if we stay optimistic and are willing to try", a message that we can apply to our own lives, young or old. Over the years I found myself repeating what the Little Blue Engine said “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can” to encourage any child who said “I can’t do it!”  Amazingly, I still have my childhood copy which I now read to my daughter. It’s a little battered from use over the years but still in usable condition. It is wonderful to be able to share one of my favorite stories with my daughter and share with her the message of perseverance. It’s a must read!

  1. Keshika,

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can! What a wonderful book indeed. I always inspire my children to know you can achieve everything in life, by working on it all the time. A Hawaiian proverb or poetic saying: Ma Ka Hana Ka 'Ike - by doing knowledge is gained. Beautiful blog! So fitting "Back to School!"
